I purchased a conversion kit for my Mercedes S430. The ride height is too high in the front. So much so that if I put my family in the car it stands up so high that it is unsafe to drive. I have been dealing with them via phone and email since December 2010 (9 months). I did everything they requested. Sent pictures, took measurements etc. They, Kent, Harvey and others have been promising to help me rectify the problem. They sound genuine with their southern hospitality but that is just a front. They have done nothing to help me. Actually I think the problem could be rectified by just providing me with shorter coils for the front. They have been horrible. I would not recommend them to anyone. I will do whatever it takes to stop them from taking advantage of people.

I ordered complete air ride conversion kit for over $700. car bottoms out after installed. after numerous phone calls, company wants money to ship out replacement parts. i refused. finally they sent me coil springs and mounts with different part #’s. installed new parts at my cost for labor and car was still bottoming out. contacted them again, they came to the conclusion that the struts must have been bad in the first parts they shipped, now they want over $400 to send out new assemblies, when they should of done that the first time I complained. this company is nothing but scammers out for money.

Damn I wish I would have read all these complains before I ordered from this Strutmaster outfit. My problems sound just like many of the others here.
    1. told my parts would be delivered by a certain date, I set up my mechanic, rental car and friend to drop me off at the mechanic 25 miles away. It’s hard to find mechanics willing to convert rear suspensions from factory specs. Parts were delayed not due to shipping but due to Stutmasters.
    2. after install my car setting lower than before, of course this is the opposite effect it should have.
3 chased strutmasters around for a week trying to get some proper tech help and answers. finally they told me that my car was setting 2 inches lower than it should, this is without passengers or anything in the trunk etc.
    4. they said either i got the wrong parts (springs) or they were defective. either way they wanted to charge me for sending out the correct parts plus shipping back the first parts. REALLY!?
    5. told them no way. and I wanted correct parts at no shipping charge plus at least $200. to pay my mechanic to redo the job! its not his fault they sent wrong parts. I also sent them photos to prove this all.
    6. I got a call back from their “expert on Mercedes” and he simply said they would only pay to ship out the correct parts and never pay anything for the reinstatll fees.
So let’s see they send me the wrong or defective stuff and then I eat all the expense? I don’t think so!

I ordered a rear suspension kit for my 93 eldorado as they advertised that they were custom made and were direct bolt in installation. When my mechanic tried to install the kit the springs were so big that even fully compressed they could never fit in the space available. We contacted them and they told us to cut off one coil from the springs. Even if we were to cut off 3 coils the springs would have been totally compressed if we attempted an install. I called and got a return authorization and they charged me over $100.00 between the restocking charge and shipping, even though they admitted that it was the wrong kit. Incompetance and poor customer service should be enough to put bad companies off of the internet.

ordered strutmaster conversion kit for electronic suspension on a 07 avalanche. one front strut fit the other side did not. called tech support and they gave me the runaround. they said that they would send me out parts to rebuild the strut. I told them that I will send the wrong strut back and for them to send me the correct one. they told me that they will not do that. most of the kit allready installed and they noted that they will not accept used parts returned. wasted alot of time and money dealing with this company! wish I would of read the complaints first.

  6. Regine says:

I purchased a conversion kit for my 2006 Range Rover HSE. Salesperson was so amazing that he made be believe that I can do it myself. I ordered the kit and waited another 2 weeks to come up with the installation money. Took it to the shop, got an alignment and all. Then a really loud clicking sound from the drivers side tire started every time I take off and turned the wheels. Took it back to the shop and they contacted Robert the tech guy and both my mechanic and Robert determined that one of the part is defective. Now, they’re charging my for labor again at the shop and the so called supervisor won’t cover for it. Next, the part came in and it was the WRONG PART and my car is stuck apart at the shop for the 4 days until the right part came in. Now, the “right part” came in and it was for the WRONG AGAIN, now the so called supervisor Ken had the mechanic mix up the old and new part to get it right. Prior to sending the wrong part the second time Ken promised that he would reimburse me the additional expense but since the mechanic got frustrated had to charge me more for doing more work. Ken refused to pay me the rest of the additional expense and stated that he would only do partial within 24 hrs. It’s been a week now and he never gave me back a penny.

To conclude, STAY AWAY FROM STRUTMASTERS, BECAUSE THEY’RE DISHONEST. THEY MIGHT SEND YOU THE DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND YOU WILL BE RELIABLE FOR THE LABOR OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

  7. i purchased the conversion kit for my 2001 Mercedes S 500. (January 2014) and installed it. The overall vehicle height is a bit more than i’d like..however, it’s bearable. the ride is stiff and that’s fine.
The problem is that I can’t get the BAS and ABS error lights to shut off. Since this displays constantly, I am not able to be made aware of other “real error messages” that come up…or even basics such as burned out bulbs, or mileage info, etc.
the power steering also seems to be a bit more sluggish…I used to be able to turn the steering wheel with one finger..now this is not possible.

I installed their conversion kit in my 97 Lincoln markVIII. Big mistake car bottoms out and it sounds like a bucket of bolts up front. IU wound up just getting a pair of Monroe struts and spring for a t bird. Car rides like new! Run don’t walk away from shitmasters.
